ABOUT THE JOEY D FOUNDATION

Our first priority is to implement proper safety measures on Springhill Road in Tallahassee, Florida. We requested a road study to determine what actions could help prevent future accidents and discovered that from 2018 to 2021, there were over 150 accidents on Springhill Road, including several fatalities. The Joey D Foundation plans to fund the essential Springhill Road safety measures to ensure no other family will feel the pain we are feeling right now.

Our second project is one that we know Joey would be especially passionate about. Joey was happiest when he was out playing sports, even from a young age. Youth sports can be financially out of reach for many families, so we want to give more children the opportunity to experience the thing that brought Joey so much happiness by funding scholarships for several youth sports programs in his name.

The Joey D Foundation’s third initial project is to fund scholarships and grants for Sports Management majors at Florida State University. Joey was a sports management major at FSU, and planned to attend law school after he graduated to become a sports agent. This project will help those with similar goals as Joey had to be able to pursue them.
